Texas Christian Top 6 Bass Tourney Scheduled May 5th 2012

Early heads up that we have scheduled the Christian Top 6 Bass Tourney next year for Saturday May 5th 2012.

Fielder Road Baptist Bass Club came in first in 2011, and we now have the blessing on hosting this tourney in 2012.

We have not yet determined a lake, waiting to see what the water levels are going to be, will communicate the lake decision about 2 months prior to the tourney.

The Christian Top 6 tourney is open to all Christian Bass clubs in Texas. Each club sends 6 anglers, for this one day tourney, and we compete for bragging rights who is the top Christian club in Texas.

Are ya'll getting any closer to picking a lake for this yet ?

Right now our we are still staying with Lake Whitney for this tournament.

Earlier this year we rented the McCown Pavillion for this May 5th date, and now that the lake is up, everyone can go up this cove and beach their bass boats right at the Pavillion base and walk up for the weighin & bbq.

McCown park is very nice facility right at midlake, just south of the Hwy 1713 bridge.

We are monitoring the lake level & the Golden Algae. We have talked to the TPWD & locals at the lake and they did not see the same fish kill magnitude as in the past. The lake level is currently four foot high and the lake is very muddy. We expect when the lake stabalizes & if the golden Algae does not come back we should have decent fishing by May 5th.

If we do need to change the lake we will stay in the same genral area and fish either Waco or Pat Cleburne.

I will be emailing the Texas Christian bass clubs this week the tournament information & rules.

We have had good participation of Christion bass clubs the last few years.... All Christian Bass Clubs are welcome... great fellowship and the bragging rights for a year that your are the best christian club in texas.

Alsbury baptist church in Burleson will have participants. This is our first time, so some instruction on what we need to do would be appreciated.

Clubs participating send me shirt sizes, I will be donating them again.

Christian Top 6 will stay on Lake Whitney scheduled for May 5th, 2012.

Fun n Sun Adult Youth tourney this last weekend on Lake Whiteny had good bass catches and was won with around 14lbs (tourney only went to noon).

Do we know how many clubs are gonna be their ?

Christian Top 6 Tournament: Lake Whitney Saturday May 5th

Fishing times: 6:15AM to 3:00PM (last cast at 3PM), must be at weighin line by 3:30PM

Note gate at McCown (and all gated parks) open at 6AM.

Launching & Pretournament Checkin: Any ramp on the lake can be used, but we will need ONE boat per team to be at the McCown ramp to verify that your 6 man team is at the lake & fishing (and record any team name changes). Pretournament Checkin: 5:30AM to 6:30AM

Weighin: McCown Valley Pavilion, at end of cove in McCown Valley Park, about 600 yards Southeast of McCown ramps (see map attached). Note: please motor up into cove & beach boat at Pavilion, leave truck/trailer in McCown Boat Ramp Parking lot (there is no boat/trailer parking at the pavilion itself).


Tournament Fee: $100 per Club (to cover cost of Trophies, food, facilities)

Congrats to the Mansfield group. It was a tough day fishing, but a good one anyway.

yes it was. It I had the results I would post them. Mansfield was first then Alsbury Baptist in second..
big Bass was over 5 lbs..
I wish fishing would have been better but whitney is a pretty lake.
