Few jigs I made - 12/16/16 04:45 AM

Here is a few jigs and trailers I made recently. Its a really good feeling to catch a Bass on a jig you made.

Great colors...wire wrap is very precise...excellent craftsmanship. I would be surprised if those didn't catch bass.

Thanks Bois. I like the wire wrap because after a year of being in ur tackle box u don't pick up ur jig and the skirt stays there lol.

You've probably been asked a hundred times before, but what wire are you using and where do you get it? I've used fly tying wire in the past, but its too thin and tends to cut the skirt material.

I use 24 Guage wire I got from michaels. Also have stripped down old copper wire and get strands out, it's also 24 Guage which is .024". Hope this helps

I use the same wire on mine from hobby lobby it last way longer than the jigs and comes out cheaper than the rubber skirt collars in the long run.

If you would be interested in trading a few of your jigs for custom painted crankbaits or spinnerbaits PM me. I just happen to have a few blanks on hand.

Agreed. I find hand tying my jigs to be easier that making skirts with rubber collars. It might be easier with the nice skirt making tool but the little tube/wire tool I have is still a PITA.

Thanks man, they are arkys except the blue and green pumpkin one is a swim jig. 96speed I used to think the rubber bands was easy but once I got the hang of tying them its easier to me now and last much longer.

Re: Few jigs I made - 01/31/17 06:02 PM

Are you mixing two different colors of paint to get that pattern? Are you dipping the heads?

Re: Few jigs I made - 02/06/17 11:27 PM

It's a special type of powder I get from prismatic powders called veins, i do first color then diff color over it in those pictures. Kinda long process

Re: Few jigs I made - 02/20/17 02:44 PM

I use the rubber bands w rattle holders. Then reinforce with several wraps of wire. Without the rattle holders, how do you put a rattle?

Re: Few jigs I made - 02/23/17 02:20 PM

If I want a rattle I stick them in the plastic trailer
