So what is that supposed to mimic and how have your results been with it?

Re: Its finesse time ll - 10/13/23 08:10 PM

I started building the puffball jig back in jan1985 with living square rubber in fine and med grade I wanted something more compact/finesse using 101 pork as my trailers or small twin tail 4" grubs in the winter time and spring time as silicone got more popular I started tying them up. I started tying jigs back in 1977 the blade bait tied in the same patter. Has very little resistance when reeling through the water they run straight back to the boat slow or fast.

Crawdads the skirt will lay back when they toss them in the water when they touch the bottom the skirt flare out into a ball with Yamamoto trailer 4" twin tail grub and they work great on LMB Spotted bass and Smillies I also build Lion collar finesse jigs and in 46 years manufacturing ive sold alot of them. I just wish Billy Westmoreland was still alive man on dale hollow his favorite color was 3/8 oz standup head in Red/Orange the story you use to tell me when we talk on the phone. I carry between 650 to 700 jigs in 51 different colors in each of my bass boats and lots of Yamamoto twin tail trailers in 4" & 5" never can have to many jigs.

Your welcome and if you tie jigs like I do there very easy to tie up. Two of the best finesse jigs you can fish in both styles.

I don’t tie any. I was just interested in your skirt design. Very unique and interesting.

Not a thing - at least not of this world. Very few lures mimic any prey animal either in appearance, action or both. The combination of each provoke attacks - end of story. To suggest otherwise is making things up to label the reason(s) fish attack lures such as hunger, anger, prey recognition, matching the prey being eaten and any other thing we invent was the reason fish struck. Doesn't matter the type of lure fish were caught on or not caught on - fish react, don't.or can't.
