Anyone else go out to the zoo on Texoma this morning? My buddy and I showed up To the landing at 6:15am and no joke there were 150-175 boats by the dam. Saw a bunch of fish caught from a lot of the boats. We ended up with 12 stripers and only kept 2 decent ones!! Traveled north throughout the day and caught 20 more sandys. Pretty good fishing for a Saturday!!
we were out there on July 4th and it was a boat show!! It's crazy how that lake fishes lol
I've been a Guide for over 23 years and been around the lake my whole life and it was one of the worst messes I've ever witnessed. Just absolute sickness how all everyone is acting and its one of the reasons I haven't been posting on here because the last thing we need is another boat up here. I'm almost sorry for the rant but it's been a war for weeks.

The lake I fish all the time has slowly started in that direction. The last few years you could count the fishing boats on one hand on a summer weekend. Things have changed.

Chris, I was in that mess the last 2 days. Saw unbelievable conduct from many boaters. People cutting others off, bumping others boats, trolling through the middle of people's slabs and bait rigs. Total madhouse. I think I'll find a different spot tomorrow. Caught a bunch yesterday in that mess but none today. We caught bigger fish late morning in other places today.

Maybe there should be a designated referee that oversees boat shows. Any boat bumping a red card and you have to leave the group for one hour, trolling through bait lines or cutting people off you get a yellow with warning, do it again you have to leave the group. Funny to picture that but I can see how frustrating it is for the long time anglers that have enjoyed and worked that lake. I'm sure that I've been guilty of some of those infractions at on time or another. On the other side of the coin I've been out there and had a guide come rolling through chasing birds that completely shut the fish off we were catching and another time a trolling guide did the same thing. Like was stated, its a mess and I took my boat from there and moved it to Whitney so ya'll have one less there now and when I get the hankerin for some sizeable stripes I will go with Chris and let him "deal" with it.
Fish on the west side of the lake and it's not as bad

Been there myself. It's funny how some of the guides think they own the lake and can do whatever they want to put their customers on fish. All the while mumbling about "weekenders". Been 10 years or more now, sounds like an absolute zoo there now.

Lol, now that you said something that's about to change!

All the lakes are starting to have this problem. Wait until this younger generation of pond fishermen that have absolutely no morals start buying boats.

There are jerks everywhere, the roads, the lakes, any public hunting land. I try real hard to treat everyone with respect, but it isn't always easy. Yes, I have also seen guides act entitled, usually duck hunting guides. However, most are good stewards of the outdoors, more than reasonably respectful of others and willing to share information to those not paying. I love to fish & hunt, my life revolves around it. But I don't think I would want to be a guide and deal, not only with customers that are sometimes goofballs, but the pressure to entertain those goofballs and catch them fish. But also the jerks that stalk em around the lakes following them hoping to pot lick fish.
Like I said, there are jerks everywhere, ever gone shopping at Christmas.
