Breaking in the New Boat!! **Picture Heavy**

Breaking in the New Boat!! **Picture Heavy** - 05/30/17 01:52 PM

Where do I even begin! eeks I'll try to put all three days into one post lol..

Went and picked the boat up on Friday from Blackbeard Marina and headed straight back to Tawakoni to start the break in thumb

I wasn't going to run the new boat on my trip Saturday, because of the simple fact of getting in late and not getting everything switched over! I couldn't not take it and let it sit at the house, so I was up until 11 on Friday night, transferring everything from my skeeter to the new boat for Saturdays trip! roflmao

This is Saturdays trip I ran with my old man, boat performed awesome in some super windy conditions! Also thanks to Capt. Michael Littlejohn for the maiden voyage picture smile

Saturday evening I took my buddy out just to run it around a little more and we found some giant schools of Hybrid & Striper and caught them until we were blue in the face! I didn't realize how much more you can see with a little larger graph eeks

Sunday mornings trip was a little more testy.. we woke up to some severe thunderstorms and heavy rain. We pushed the trip back until 8 and then ran it. The fish had lock jaw most of the morning until we finally came across a mega school and caught our limit QUICK!

Monday! I had planned on taking the day off because of boat traffic BUT.. I had to take the girlfriend out, not by choice roflmao but she for sure caught the big fish of the day! Plus she looks good driving the boat grin she even let me catch a few!

Nice post thumb

Can you add some more pics of that platform that you have your motor attached to when you get a chance.
Could you tell the difference in running the boat with the motor extended out a little further?

It's hard for me to give you a straight answer on that Holzer, i'm used to a 200 merc on a 21' boat lol. All i know is this 300 is all there! Takes no time at all to get on plane and is super smooth! thumb

Awesome boat. Can't wait to get mine. I can see your dads in the background of that last pic. Did you add those u-bolts on the side of your motor platform or did they come on it? I like how you didn't have to add something to mount your splashed motor on, I didn't know those trolling motor mounts would go vertical like that. What did you put under the bolts so it doesn't scratch the motor platform?

I put a 2x6 under the plate so it's level! Then just a piece of gasket material under the bolts so it wouldn't scratch. The u bolts on the side come on there for straps, which I don't use. Lol

Thanks for the extra pic.
I really like the look of having that deck on the back. Looks like it would be a good tool to help with getting back into the boat when swimming. And possibly making a smoother ride.

Obviously I am answering my own question here, but are you worried the splasher motor could slip off the back? I really like the way you mounted yours instead of having to add some othere kind of mount to the motor platform.

Ehh not too much, i'm constantly looking back while running and checking on it. I have it tightened with channel locks and don't worry too much thumb

Great looking rig! thumb
I've been looking hard at the 2400's and talking to Blackbeard. Really like all the open space with the forward console. Can you show a pic of the back deck layout and the console setup?
