Is this Snap/swivel connected to slab, or just swivel and leader? I'm guessing snap swivel.

I saw a package of snap swivels the other day and it said for ages 3-8 and 65 and older.

The only time I use a swivel is when fishing a jig above a slab. Helps with line twist.

Exactly correct........... Those are the only two age groups where ego is less important than catching fish. LOL

I would only use a snap swivel for a jig above the slab for a double rig.

All joking aside, most of my slabs have a ball bearing swivel attached with a spit ring. I think it allows them to have more action. I buy my ball bearing swivels from China by the 100. Cheap, decent quality and if I loose it, so what. I don't use snap swivels on anything but some topwater baits for schooling fish.

I don't use a snap swivel, but I do use a swivel tied to main line, then about 6 inches below that I have a dropshot thing from Mo's with a hook for my grub then about 12 inches below that a slab, normally RSR gold and silver glitter. We catch lots of doubles like that and the swivel keeps the main line from twisting as bad

No swivel for me. But I like to keep it simple.

I didn't realize the swivel would be so controversial and an indication of manhood.

As for me I use a snap swivel. I will out-fish all the hard-heads & let them debate the manhood issue while they are wasting time letting their line untwist.

I've had too many snap swivels pull open in my lifetime. Also dont really have line twist problems when slabbing.
But, I do tend to cut & retie pretty frequently if the line gets any visible wear or abrasion. Maybe that makes some difference.

I'm a swivel fan 100%! these days there's all kinds of options for swivels. All depends what you are fishing for.. Chose the correct size, color and style. I change lures often.. I like different styles depending on presention?! Lately it's been swimming slabs which gives it added side to side movement w/ minimum tangles

Barrel swivels on all my slabs. I don't trust most snap swivels.

I don't fish for these much, but use a split ring and barrel swivel when slabbing.
