Hook change on bomber lure

I changed the hooks on this lure by taking off the factory hooks and putting number 4 2x treble hooks on it do y'all think this will work better for trolling for sand bass because I was told the hooks May be too big. What do y'all think?

I take the front hook off and tie a 2' leader with a chrome pet spoon trailing it.

You may not need it for sand bass but you will for Stripers. Stripers will quite often bend those soft bomber hooks and sometimes take the split ring with it. I have a box full of bent bomber hooks.




I've seen them do a number on umbrella rigs too. I got one striper in on this rig but had multiples hit it and pull off.



Be careful about those Premium hooks. They are so sharp they will go into you right up to the hilt with the slightest pressure. No fun and can be expensive if you can't pull them out by yourself.

Oh yea , them hooks are plenty sharp
