We got out to the main body around 1830 on Friday.
The first fish was a sizable crappie, caught on a chartreuse deep diving crank bait. (?!)
19 of the next 20 fish were 14"+ sandies. We even saw birds going nuts about 1930, went over, and tore up the surfacing fish chasing shad (first time I'd seen that this year). A lot of times, the lunkers stay deep and let the juveniles chase the surface stuff, but this time that wasn't the case.
Blue and silver lures? Nope. If it wasn't chartreuse, forget it.
