Tried A New To Us Lake Today

Tried A New To Us Lake Today - 04/24/16 01:02 AM

With our local haunts being either closed or muddy, we decided to go try a new lake. We went to Millers Creek and had a good day. Being a small lake we looked around a little and got started fishing. We ended up catching 60+ short whites, many good sized whites, several short Hybrids, and a few ditch pickles. At the first spot we left the 8-10" whites biting and moved down to a different area, It was mostly mixed size whites. The third spot held the hybrids and better whites. The little lake got crowded around noon and it seemed everyone was trolling but us. As soon as they saw a bent rod, it was like a parade coming by and then they would speed off. Most of the fish are staying around the rocks very shallow. A Moes Nano sassy pitched up dang near the bank would get bit about two cranks after it landed. All in all it was a good day and the kid had a large time and tried out his fillet board thingy somebody gave him last year. We kept six fish to eat tomorrow and let the rest keep swimming.

Where exactly is Millers Creek? I need a new place to try since Bridgeport will be closed a while.
