Stewart creek park lake lewisvilles

Anyone been out there lately? Only have 1 day to fish while I'm in town and used to kill en out there about this time of the year growing up but haven't been back in a few years! Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

That's the ramp I usually use. We typically head towards the 121 cut and fish any of the points around there. Haven't been out in a while, but I'm looking forward to the spawn ending and being able to find em back in the lake. Let us know how you did.

Friday evening, the 121 cut was on fire for over two hours. Left at dark and they were still biting. Most magnums.

Good news Dan. Gonna try to sneak out there this Friday. What were you using? They weren't on top were they?

Yes, they were on top chasing 3" shad. All fish caught on a slab (chartreuse) in 20 FOW. Drop down, three cranks up jiggle, jiggle, catch. Some bites were soft others were hard. Going out tomorrow to see if I can find them again. Past experience (several years) has proven early morning and late afternoons by the cut to the main lake. Even by the Dam before the cut. The fish are returning from the creeks and haven't really staged up ant where yet. My luck has been closer to the cuts so far this year. Some hit the fly tied above the slab. Four weeks ago, I found a school in 20 FOW across from the fishing barge. Same results. I have not yet caught fish in deeper water or seen them schooling in the middle of the lake. Friday should be good. I'll post my Thursday trip to let you know what's up out there.

As promised- fished south of the Island between the island and Pier 121. Hybrids were active- 1 over (8.7lbs) and three under. Sandbass + 50 plus, birds worked the surface for three hours, fish never left. Also caught three black bass using swim bait on the windy point. All fish were in 30 FOW- 20 FOW up to the surface. Slabs worked great, fly caught some too. Today should be great. Go get them...

Thanks everyone for their up to date reports. Taking my 7 year old out tomorrow evening and you've just made my trip! For what it's worth, I fished for bass last Friday around 6pm and on my way to a spot, there were 6-7 boats bunched up about 200 yards out in front of Lake Park. I didnt see any birds working but I imagine the boats were on the sandies.

Thanks Dan. Heading out there this afternoon/evening. Hopefully there's still some action going on. Me and Fishing With Kids will be out there in a white Mako center console. Anyone else out there today say hello if you see us.

Ahhggghh! I been avoiding the cut and 121 side. I've hit and tried all over the lake the past few weeks. Never thought of going up in there. I have been catching some but not large schooling yet.

Great report....didn't pick up much yesterday out near the gravel pits. Found them in 35 fow off hackberry creek. Sandbass only...but tons of them.

We had a pretty good day yesterday. Put in at Stewart's Creek about 5pm or so. Made it up to the end of Pier 121 Marina and saw some birds working over by the golf course out in front of the swimming area. Picked up a few there and then saw more birds working on the east side of the island. We picked up some more there and then made our way around the island toward the 121 cut. There were a lot of birds working over there too. We picked up a few more there. Mostly decent sized sandies and a few under hybrids in the mix. Weather was nice, just a little breezy. All fish released to get bigger and fight another day. Too bad all this rain is on its way. Would love to get back out there.
