Re: Jp Or Em - 04/05/16 02:40 PM

Better have a small boat and not value lower unit. Been fishing this lake over 50 years and never have seen
them stay up the river this long. Generally a month and they have been up there over 2 months
but the lake has been 60 to 63 for 5 weeks. They generally kick off at 65 degrees plus as of sunday lake was muddy but starting to clear.

JP is on fire. I am not that great of a fisherman, have never caught a limit before and have caught a 2 man and 4 man limit the last 2 times I've been out to JP.

Re: Jp Or Em - 04/10/16 03:13 AM

We went to Joe Pool today we had 50 in less than an hour, There are big schools of sandbass at 20 to 35 ft depending on the time of day, just watch your fish finder cant miss them.

Re: Jp Or Em - 04/11/16 12:19 AM

Are yall catching them on jigging spoons?

Re: Jp Or Em - 04/11/16 01:39 AM

I used a Cotton Cordell silver jigging slab. You can get them at Wal-Mart, 2 for about $3.00. Jigged some but caught more by casting out and reeling back slow, keeping it close to the bottom. Used the #4 Mepps some also. Until the locking nut on reel seat broke on that rod. mad Both methods worked equally well. Good Luck

Re: Jp Or Em - 04/11/16 02:09 PM

Yea we had our 50 on Friday in just over an hour. And a bonus crappie. The slab never made it to the bottom unless you drifted off of the fish. They didn't have a color preference Friday.
