anybody been to the 99 bridge lately?

Been wanting to take my grandson on his first fishing trip has anybody been down there lately?

I was down there last week and the river was a chocolate brown color. Very few people during the week and we fished all the way up to the junction of the Frio and San Miguel as well as about a couple of miles toward the lake.
We caught one white on a roadrunner, and several small cats on stink bait.
Just my luck, we talked to a guy as we were pulling our boat out and he said he caught 35 the week before standing on the shore next to the launch.
People are a little tite lipped and keep most of the reports focused on the Nueces.
Best way to find out is to go and give it a try!
