lock n dam, trinity river - 01/20/16 09:52 PM

Hey guys, does anyone have a white bass report from the Lock and Dam marina upper trinity river? I've heard that the river is very high. Also, heard that the bank is eroding due to high water is that true? I would like to try the area for some of the good white bass action that I've seen on youtube. I want to make the 3.5 hour trip from San Antonio, but I don't want to make the trip if the fishing isn't good. Any help would be appreciated.

Try the bank section. You might have better luck there.

River is high, muddy, and rolling. Looked unfishable to me when I crossed it yesterday. I wouldn't drive that far to try it until the river runs down some.

Going to be a tough year for that spot with all the release from the DFW area lakes.

The road off the bridge was barricaded off because of the bank giving away.

"We've received several messages about the park and this spring season. In response to those I figured I'd answer publicly . In 2015 we were flooded 4 times in 6 months and that's just the floods that covered the entire park, in result of that we've had allot of damage to our facilities such as restrooms, showers and skinning facility and just in general throughout the park itself. It's been so wet we've had a hard time to correct damage between floods so it's gonna take some time to get everything back up and running . The Baithouse itself and the trolley will reopen soon a date has not been set yet as we still have allot to do and wanna make sure we aren't in flood way again. About our trolley as far as we can tell it has not received any major damage but it is and has been under allot of water for most of this past year so we can't say what the rest of it looks like. We are hoping it is fine as well. Camping and such will be slim for awhile as our tent spots received allot of bank damage when our bank started caving off. Rv's will have problem we are sure from water reaching electrical points . All we can say is we ask you to bare with us . We wanna get opened and get things back to normal as much or more than you do but the water continues to slow us down. We ask you to stay out of the park until we reopen so we can keep as much bank as we can and keep away from the banks edge in the park and under the bridge as that causes cave in's.We appreciate all those who have checked on us during floods as we do appreciate your thoughts and prayers. Thanks again and we are hoping 2016 will be much better than 2015 ."
