Cedar Creek 1-15-16 - 01/16/16 01:29 PM

Thanks to Dennis Christian sharing his wealth of knowledge on here, we were able to catch these beauties! We caught them in 19 fow on St.Annes point and spillway hump. Caught several big whites and a couple hybrids that were 19". And even a LMB that was 20". Overall great day!

I use the map that Dennis Christian has provided as Cedar Creek is not my "home" lake. I fish RC but it has been way to muddy. Thanks to Dennis, I decided to run over to CC and try out his spots. They produced. What I usually do is troll a crankbait behind the boat while I am searching the spots and locating fish. I figure might as well not waste the time that I drive around locating fish. If I pull over fish, I will see if the crank bait picks them up, this is more or less to confirm they are whites/hybrids. Then if I get one, I throw marker buoys and then I use the mepps method on them.

The LMB was caught while trolling with crank baits. The hybrids and white bass that I caught were a mix between cranks and mepps method. Caught about 10 fish, 5 of cranks while locating and 5 on the mepps. Pretty good day thanks to Dennis sharing his wisdom.

Dennis, If you are reading this, I think I saw you out on St.Annes on Sunday Afternoon. Sorry I almost ran over your marker buoy. I did not see it! Thank you for sharing the spots with us. We ended up catching one 22" Hybrid. I noticed you had caught one too.
