I'm ready for dead stick season! - 12/06/15 09:35 PM
Just finished putting eyes on over 100 jig heads, there's lots of flukes in the boat and I've got new braid on my rods. It's time!

I had a blast on Friday pm trip. They turned on at 4pm. By cloud point and trees area between state park and 2 mile bridge. Big schools of hybrids feeding on top water. It was unbelievable. Lost two huge hybrids when my line snapped. Excited to go back soon. I caught them with chartreuse sassy shad and dead sticking.

Does dead sticking only work on hybrid/stripers? Does it work on sand bass?

Yes, just might want to use a smaller plastic bait. Dead sticking is all about finding the shad and then presenting your lure just above ( usually) the shad. I have caught blue cats, crappie, white bass while dead sticking for hybrids/stripers

It's a killer method for Sand Bass.

Yes it is. I don't know how many times I have gotten a surprise when Crappie fishing and a school of Whites come by. They love the 2" Crappie jigs.
