Where to find Whites on Lake Fork

Where to find Whites on Lake Fork - 07/30/15 06:13 PM

I'm seeing lots of info on other lakes. We will be headed to Fork soon and am looking for some current info on areas and depth they're bite'in right now. Have only focused on the 515 bridge previously.

Go up by the dam and watch your fish finder. They are there.

I was going to ask the same question. I usually avoid this time of year because of the heat, but my kid wants to go fishing before heading out for college. I want to put her on some fast sand bass action on fork. I would assume to check all the main lake points out in front of the dam, and watch the birds and the other boats.

any other specific locations that anyone would like to share?

Hammered them there last weekend
Then got back out at dark and hit dock lights caught huge ones at night
All on small square bill cranks

Tin Man if you want to make sure she has a great time before heading off to college get in touch with Cody Malone. He has been on a tear on sandies. Check some of his posts. They caught 130 the other day. he has a special going on right now for an evening of fishing that would be a blast. Other than that just look for the sandies like you would off shore bass. Creek mouths, humps, old road beds, bridges, and points in 10 to 30 ft. of water. Good electronics are a must.

Taking the 10 year old out in the morning, if you see a yellow nitro driving around at the dam looking clueless that's me. He likes to catch the sandbass, I have caught plenty out there but have never targeted them. ray bob sounds like a mess with one ramp. EM and the other lakes have not turned on so we are making the trip. Be out the next week to bass fish with Vick, so I will get some green fish time.

Didn't do any good. Schooling around little candy point but they would stay up a second and you could throw into them and no bites. It was weird. Caught a channel cat and small lmb that I let the kid reel in both. He said he had a great time and that makes it worthwhile
