Wrong gear for a big striper . . .

This actually shows up on the Sunline website, more or less an endorsement of the strength and durability of their fluorocarbon. Anyway, a man hooks into a large striper using 8 lbs. fluorocarbon.

A great video for the views of the water and surroundings. Too, it shows a fisherman who at least knows how best to manage a fish too large for the tackle he's fishing that day. Early on, he says to the cameraman that they'll be lucky if they even see the fish.

This was several years ago so it may have been posted here before.

It can sure go like that. I caught these two last December at PK crappie fishing with a Shakespeare 7 foot light pole with 10 lb test line. Had a slip bobber rig on about 25 feet down. I did not see either fish bite. They hit the crappie minnow so hard the first thing I knew the rod was bending at the base and line was screaming out like crazy. The rod later broke where the fish cracked it.
