Richland Chambers...The Reports of It's Death - 04/24/15 10:20 PM

Have Been Greatly Exaggerated! violin

The past couple of weeks the Whites and now the Hybrids have made an appearance. Not sure how good the Spring action will be but limits almost everyday on Whites for two weeks and now LOTS of 10", 15", 17" and now 25" Hybrids. I wouldn't write RC off just yet as many folks have done! Should have been a great spawn this Spring with the Creeks running for the past month!

Here's a few pics from the past two weeks and the BIG ONES from the past three days!

Good Luck and Give us a Call to get in on the action! Now booking late May and June!

Ended the week on Saturday with a two boat eight person Group from Mansfield that fish with us every Spring and Summer. Had well over 100 Whites and 9 Hybrids. LOTS of 15" Hybrids and small Whites to throw back. Hybrids on 4" Sassys and Whites on Chartruse Shad Slabs. Both baits available thru www.rsrlures.com .

Booking June now for Family and Kiddos as it won't be long before School is out! Check out our "Package Special" @ www.gonefishin.biz !

Good Luck!

We made our first spring trip of the year today. Tried the waterfall early. Was only there for about 30 minutes before more boats that I care to be around showed up. It's definitely no place to be on a spring weekend. The normal spots like pelican, wind sock, and 309 were not holding fish in any number so we moved up the chambers arm of the lake and found some huge schools of mixed hybrids and and massive sand bass. Most fish were in 25'-32' of water. We would fish an area with slabs and sassy shad until the fast and furious action stopped then drift back through the area with live bait. These drifts produced some nice hybrids. Not sure why the big hybrids seem to move in after a big school of sandbass vacate an area but in the spring I see this pattern a good bit.

Seems like the magnum sandbass have not quite made it back to the go to spots yet. The fish we caught up the Chambers arm were way bigger than the largest sandbass we caught at the waterfall. Be careful what you throw in the box. Lots of under hybrids mixed in with the sandbass right now. A good many of them are in the 10"-12" range.
