ok a new month, let's hear nothing but fall fish stories.

Took my son up Cowhouse in a canoe yesterday. Saw 6 turkeys, an airboat and had a 5 foot gar come after my little crankbait. 1 white bass about the size of a shad. That's the only fish story I got.

Went trolling yesterday afternoon. Caught 7 whites, 2LMB and a Smallie. Had two break offs. Lots of wind but steady bite. Fished main lake. Very few boats on the lake. A few boat trailers at Arrowhead and only about ten each at TLP Sparta and Westcliff.

Seems like all the other lakes are schooling and were shut down. Anybody seen any schoolies lately? Ill be out there tomorrow morning with a coworker around TLP. Say hi if ya c us. Prolly be beating the banks for those green fish that bite all the time!

Since the big rain I'v been out a few time and only caught catfish. Now I got my cast net back in boat I only need a new trolling motor and I will be set. This darn work thing is getting in the way of my fishing. getting dark and cool toooo early.

Made it in country about two weeks ago. Cooling down now, only 105 and dust storms. Anyone hear from Scooter, I need him to PM me the fishing hole, I may be heading down towards him soon.

FT, Havent heard from Scooter but Dhand or TB might have.

Going back out in the AM. Going to troll a bit. Trying a new setup. Next weekend going to Alan Henry to fish for some LMBs. Going to try out my new worms.

FT, Scooter is preparing for departure, you more than likely will miss him. As your looking at the palace, go right, all the way to the blowed up bridge half in the water. 20-30 foot clear water on the right, hydrilla on the left with a channel. Fish the channel

fished the am. lots of fish on main lake bunched up early and then spreading out as it warms. caught a good mix of lmbs and whites. had three lmbs over 2 lbs today. largest at 3.2. no smallies though. good bite from tlp to gsc. fish in shallow.

I had about 10 minutes to fish late last night (around midnight). No boat, from the bank by cedar ridge park.

I used a small popper that I've never caught anything with but I enjoy casting it a mile with a cheapo spincast combo and making tons of noise with it.

First cast, just 3 or 4 feet from the bank some sort of monster attacked it, ran with it, and stripped ALL of my line from the reel before I could get the drag to tighten enough. I wasn't even mad, the fish scared the hell out of me. I felt like I had a heart attack and feel bad if the guy is swimming around now with like 100yds of line trailing him.

It's windy here at the coast too!! So windy it messes up my hair! LOL

Day 7 at the coast!

We had another great day of fishing today. We fished at Port A, Charlie's Pasture..

We caught a bunch of 3-5lbers Gafftops, caught a ribbon fish (first time seeing one) and a Bay Shrimp in the cast net.

My 1st Bull Red, measured in at 41" and weighed 25lbs.





Caught this and no idea what it is. Need help!

God, I think 7 days of fishing took its toll on me. I look like bait, lol. We had just got back from fishing and caught about a hundred gafftops that were all huge! I am whooped and mad because he won't let me stay another day to try and catch my own bull red, lol. I told him that striped fish is a baby cobia but he won't believe me, lol.

I thought that was a wig all this time sorry

John I believe the small fish is a cobia. Sometimes refered to as a Ling. That is one nice red.

It is a cobia for sure..nice job! I may try to head that way next weekend for some red fish!

We made it back home and I told John to go hook up the boat. I think he must be tired or something, lol. I think we fished at least 12 hours or more every day we were there, lol. I won't be able to move by tomorrow but it was worth it. Now to find some big hybrids again and a good crappie hole on Belton,lol. Sallysue you would have had a blast the last night we were there we must have caught a hundred gafftop and they were all big ones. Felt like really in a big rock til they would make a run then then it was like hybrid. Fun fun fun!

Gosh haven't been there in a while but it sure looks like you guys had a blast and also did good. See ya on the lake
