Richland Chambers Update - 09/29/18 11:36 PM

It's been a couple of weeks since the last post so here's a current report. Main reason for not posting is the Whites have been so tough to find and catch that I changed to Crappie and Catfish the past two weeks. Yesterday (Friday), my trip cancelled so I got on the Lake to bait out some Catfish Holes for today's trips. While I was baiting, Adam had a trip with a threesome that really wanted White Bass so he started the trip looking for Whites & Hybrids and then planned to catch some Catfish as a backup plan. And he found some on the Windsock Point first 10 minutes of the trip. When these fish played out, he spent an hour plus looking on the Flats, Points, Dogleg, etc. with little luck. After my work was done, I decided to look for Whites to help him out. Nothing on the Longarm, Old Roadbed, & another spot or two. I decided to graph the Pelican Island area on the way into the Marina. Glad I did as the fish were there in some good numbers. I called Adam and he was able to get around 40 Keepers and finish off a 75 fish limit in about an hour. We decided to change our plan today and start our trip fishing for Whites instead of Catfish. Glad we did as we had good early action and enough catching most of the morning to keep our 8 Person Party happy. While we didn't limit out, we cleaned over 120 Whites, several Hybrids and Crappie and threw back an estimated 100 small fish. Here's hoping this is the beginning of the Fall Feeding we're used to. Water temp is in the high 70's, clarity is good and the Lake rose about 1 foot last week. All fish caught on RSR Chartruse Slabs and Jig Teasers. We have Weekday openings for White Bass, Catfish or Crappie Trips in October. Good Luck!
