Cedar Creek Fishing Report 7.1.2018

It was my grandsons birthday on Sunday. He is now 17 , a great age . For his birthday, he ask me to take him fishing, what a great time we had . Oh, and by the way, I also got to take the 10 year old grandson.........I have had both so these boys in my boat since they were 4 years old, great life time memories. Our day started early that day around 6:00am, the wind was blowing a little more than I like. First stop was Sams Hump for schooling fish, 4 fish were caught on silver rattle traps. The wind had picked up and I started running the locator over Long Ridge east and in the middle. Not enough fish to stop. We then went to the Main Lake Hump, the locator was showing the fish were stacked in 24 to 28 FOW. Turned on the Thumper and grand kids were having the time of their life. We managed to catch a limit of fish, using #4 Mepps, 1oz silver slabs. After the fish slowed, we headed to Key Ranch Drop Off, same type set up , 24 to 28 FOW, still using #4 Mepps, 1oz silver slabs and another limit of sand bass and 6 cat fish, 4 small Hybirds, just a great birthday for the older grandson. It's about 12:30PM, time to go to the house. Take a kid fishing.......
