Possum Kingdom Striper Guide Recommendations

Hi Everyone, I'm looking for recommendations on PK striper guides in late May to June. I want someone who is willing to teach/ explain and give tips and tricks... not someone who is just trying to catch a limit the fastest way possible and get off the lake without talking to you. Our group will be 6-12 people.

I tried searching and couldn't find what I was looking for, so sorry if this has been posted a thousand times... Thanks!

Randy Wood, Jeff Bobo, Kerry Dugan, Casey Armstrong, Mike Acosta, are all excellent choices. There are several down rigger guides on the lake as well, so you may want to ask whoever you end up using their methods, so you don’t get a suprise upon arrival.

When I started striper fishing, I went to PK. I contacted and used Dean Heffner guide service. He was extremely helpful in what I needed to bring and the jigs I needed to use for the other days that I would be fishing. We caught a ton of fish with Dean and he was very open about the areas to fish and what to use. With Dean we kept a few fish and released most. He wasn't about getting of the lake as soon as a limit was caught. I have also talked to Kerry though this web page. He is also very helpful and very knowledgeable about striper fishing at PK. I have caught lots of fish with the areas and information Kerry was able to provide me. He has even offered to show me around the lake. Both of them would be worth your money. I am sure the other guides listed are just as good but I have not had the opportunity to fish with them as of yet.

Bunch of good guides listed here. I've fished with Randy Wood and Dean Hefner. Both are good guys. Randy fished with us all day and we caught and released several limits. I did keep one 10 pounder. I understand Kerry Dugan does pretty good as well. If I were going out during the day, the main thing I would want to know is does his boat have shade. It's pretty hot now on the lake during the day.

You are smart to get a guide. The lake is fishing pretty tough right now. I can still catch fish but I have to go at night, as the summer pattern has started. Bait is so tough for us ameteurs you could almost justify a guide just to have some shad. Every week the fishing pattern has changed this year. I honestly do know know how fishing guides stay on top of where the fish are.

In middle of selling a boat and buying another, Will be several weeks before it’s ready to go.

That’s probably a good idea, the lake is getting more and more pressure.
