Help with Whitney - 12/25/17 06:14 PM

My son is home on leave from the Marines and I was hoping to put him on some stripers. I do a lot of bass fishing but pretty lost when it comes to stipers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This seems to be a tight lipped subject as I too am looking for the same type of info. I guess experience will need to be our teacher. I'm headed out tomorrow hopefully we dont get freezed out or blown off the water. I'll be happy to share what I find out.

If the birds are not working I have pretty good luck trolling at the mouth of the nolan river and also trolling the river by Hamm creek.
My number one lure is a medium lip shad colored crank bait. Troll at 3-3.5 mph. a bait that gets about 8-10 foot depth. I usually troll the 16-20 foot range at the nolan. In the brazos it will run 12-25 foolish. You will catch a lot of nice sand bass in the river also.
