Somewhere in San Antonio to catch small bluegill - 10/08/17 02:36 AM

I want to catch some small bluegill for striper bait. Would Converse North or Live Oak
City Park be a good place ? Know any good spots ?

thanks ! Chris

Converse North Lake is loaded with small Bluegill. Fish the area by the Lilly Pads. Once the first major cold front moves in they will not come back till spring. Also the cross over at the Crescent Bend Nature Park on Shaffer Road (Cibolo Creek) is a very good spot for small fish. They are super active there right now. Fish the hole on the east side of the road. thumb

If you are using the perch for bait in Canyon, the ones out of the lake seem to get more bites than the
Ones caught out of another lake. The little perch are pretty easy to catch in Canyon Lake. Hope this helps.

Plus #1. A lot of the coves in Canyon hold small Bluegill. Fish by stick ups and brush piles.

Try Turkey Cove. Lots of small Bluegill right side of boat ramp in cove. Was Kayaking there last week!
