Scale quit working, but I think it's my 2nd largest ever caught. It had a big bump along with the thump.

That is one nice Bluegill. Looks like some sort of growth had developed. I have seen that before both on bass and Bluegill in the same area. A friend of mine told me it was genetic. You could email the picture to Ron Smith inland fisheries with Texas Parks and Wildlife. His email address is on the Parks&Wildlife web page.

I have never seen anything like that. I would guess genetic.
