Hit Athens Today - 08/04/17 05:46 PM

Put the tube on Athens for a couple hrs today. It was a really good day on the water. Fish were biting like starving zombies.

Nothing to difficult as far as tactics. A piece of crawler about an inch long on an unpainted 1/8th oz jig head. Toss it out, let it sink slowly and hang on. I didn't bother keeping a count but I'm guessing I took somewhere around 35 good sunfish before I called it a day. Also took a couple small bass about 10 inches long. All fish were released to fight another day.

I ran out of crawlers and used some pieces of GULP crawlers and also some GULP grubs. They worked too.

I've had a couple people PM me about my tube setup. Here is it. Nothing fancy but a really fun way to fish.

I apologize for the pics being on end. For some reason my photo editor doesn't want to work and I can't rotate them.

I inherited this one in 2013. It was my father's and I took it after he lost his fight with lung cancer. Prior to that I had one of the old donut style tubes. I took a huge amount of fish in the older model but the Togiak has a lot more pockets for storing gear. It is a good set up and I enjoy using it.

I want to give a thank you to the gentleman for flipping my pics for me. Gonna need to find out whst the glitch is in my photo editor.

Noticed your signature;I retired as a Chief Corpsman in 1992. Thanks for the reply. I wondered about its durability but sounds like yours has been a good one.
