DUNLAP 5/16/17 - 05/16/17 09:21 PM

Finally back in action...boat trailer repaired, and probably done with Fayette til the fall. Fished Dunlap today 8:00 til 3:00. Water temp 74-75 degrees. Fish were pretty aggressive...ended up with 2 bass, 1 Rio, and around 40 bluegill of various types. Highlight was two real nice red ear about the same size. All released so banker can get them when they grow up. All on night crawlers mostly near cypress trees.

Glad to see a good report out of Dunlap! clap I have been busy fishing other places and have not fished Dunlap in over a week! Need to make it out there before the summer circus arrives! hammer As always nice report Vogey and nice fish. Good job Sir! cheers

Side Note: Glad you got some nice Redear! I keep telling myself that the BIG ones are somewhere on that lake. I have just not been able to find them! hide2

Side note on the red ear...they were a little deeper that the others...around 6 feet, and it seems you have to fish slower for them. Like when you get a loop in your line resulting in a crows nest that takes a few minutes to untangle...that's when it seems the read ear hit !

Great report as always. Nice fish. woot

Side Note: Fished Mcqueeney early during this week and the bite was slow. Strong current. It has been that way all this year. A lot of water has been let out of Canyon. On the bright side the Crappie bite as been good so far all this year!

Thanks. Fished Dunlap this past Thursday and caught a bunch of nice Bluegill in the 7 to 9 inch range. Holding by docks in shallow water 4 to 6 feet deep! Fat and full of fight. thumb
