How often do you spool your reels?
On my sunfish reels I usually spool them twice a year! Six pound test line.

At least twice a year with mono. If I am doing a lot of creek fishing with hangs I might have to respool more often. Also, I've found that I have to replace the spools of fluorocarbon I carry as leader material twice a year. The fluorocarbon gets brittle in the pocket of my vest.

I re-spool when the level of the line begins to affect the reel's performance. I lose enough line to hang ups so that I have to re-spool often enough that the line stays in good shape. I use 10 pound test braided line (2 pound diameter) for general use.
In the reels that have been put away and not used I re-spool them when they are put back in service. The trout rigs are about due. They use 6 pound test Trilene.

Two or three times a year. Three times if I am fishing the creeks hard.
