Fishing for panfish with a willow branch - 05/14/16 03:52 PM
I caught a few bass and catfish using my trusty roadruner in small creek but I could not get the bluegills to hookup. Thew will usually hit my roadrunner if I reel it in over or near there round gravel beds. Today so such luck so I changed tactics. I had some corn in my car as always because I am more of a Carp angler. I tossed a single kernal in the water and two blue gills fought over it and swallowed the corn in no time. So I got a small gold panfish hook and tied some cheap line onto a willow branch I broke off nearby. Casting was a bit like fly fishing but it worked great. I knew this would pretty much get instant results so I filmed with my phone. This was alot of fun and made me feel like a little kid again. All fish were released.
