Mid March Bug Hatch???

not only are we having bedding gills, but also bug hatches which just made up for all the little fish...I love them hitting the Adams style flies,,, I love NOT being in a boat right now LOL. I love the color of these long ear, wish I could have taken all their pics...about 2 dozen in all Red Ear, Long Ear, and gills along with 8 Bass but NO Guads and that is what Im looking for right now.

Wait until early April. They will really will be showing off their colors.




Side Note: I have always nailed some super nice Bluegill during the Mayfly hatches. There are usually several hatches a year. The first coming around late April or early May.

I hear ya Kent. Had a super early hatch up here also. Was not planning on fishing topwater, but did catch a few on a size 03 Floating Rapala Minnow. Missed a whole lot more since I was not properly equipped, but it sure was fun seeing them knock that plug into the air. If I had had my glass rod and/or my Rebel Crickhoppers, I think I could have caught quite a few more. Good on ya with the fly rod. Stubbornly sticking to my UL rigs.
