cibolo creek at zuel rd

cibolo creek at zuel rd - 01/21/16 01:31 PM

There has been a problem getting access to the creek at zuel rd for a couple of months now. The company that owns the property next door to mine has fenced of the old trail and is chasing off people that park in the dirt turn around due to people doing drugs and leaving trash behind in the area. So this Saturday I'm going to shred the church rd access onto my property so that anyone wanting to fish there have a place to park and fish the creek. If anyone runs into the manager from the company running people of please try to get his name and number and pm it to me so that I can finally talk to him. If any of yall are in the area please stop by, I might have a small grill going while fishing and working.

Jeff are you talking about the dirt turn around at the end of the hard road? I did not think that was private property. hmmm

I don't think so either and if you look at the fence lines and the trail that goes BETWEEN them I thought was a county easement. I just have not been able to talk to the guy doing it and I don't want to start a large fight over it.

It would be nice if I can get ahold of the company manager and a few people that regurally fish there to meet and talk to each other and maybe he could use the fishermen to help keeping the area clean.

You can check with the county tax office and they can tell you who owns that piece of property. hmmm I have fished your property several times over the years and for the most part it stays pretty clean. thumb I have picked up my share of left behind trash. eeks It is a shame people leave their trash behind. It makes it bad for all of us. splat Places to fish are becoming harder to find. I can't blame a property owner at all for posting their property. police

Side Note: You are doing a GREAT THING Jeff by allowing anglers to fish your property. coolio Good chance I will drop by Saturday to shake your hand and meet you. cheers

That would be awesome chuck. I think the drug using and people abandoning cars is what made the residents in the area the most nervous which I totally understand.

There was a stripped out car their last year at the end of the street! Know telling how long it had been there. Also there was some dropped off old furniture left on the trail. Someone did remove it but it had to be a lot of work doing so. If people would just keep a place clean! soap

Wish folks wouldn't post stuff about that creek on open internet forum. Several of my local favorite childhood fisheries are now decimated. Thanks... not.

confused Post what stuff about that creek. I'm just informing why an area is closed off and why I'm opening up my property for access. Hope you go by and fish it and have a good time.

Weather you post something about the Cibolo or not it is not going to make any difference. Just look at the area around it and how much it has grown up. Heck there are three Super Walmart stores within five miles of Crescent Bend. The area behind Randolph is covered with houses. I have grown up and worked in this area my whole life and can remember hunting doves and deer in areas that are now neighborhoods. With a nature park and several other new parks that have opened up on the Cibolo it is not a secrete anymore. Besides just my two cents, I don't mind people enjoying the creek and the outdoors as long as they RESPECT it. Posting stories about the Cibolo is not going to matter one way or the other. Just my two cents. Many anglers have known about that creek for years.Again just my opinion. 2cents

I want to give what I never had growing up and that is access to decent fishing. All the ponds that I could fish as a little kid ended up closing on me and I had nowhere to go fishing for years. Between this forum and another local forum, There are some great people that know a place to fish near them, that also help clean up the area( trash and people wise).

Jeff that is a kind and generous offer you made to access through your property. A lot fewer places to fish nowadays due to people not respecting other people's properties. cheers
