Banker, you are my "go to" guy on Hill Country fishing related goings on: Not Sunfish related, but here goes: Is the Pedernales going to be water worthy enough for the whites to mosey on up towards Dripping Springs and onward from Travis? Man do I miss that run on some of God's loveliest stretches of stream! And if it's gonna kick, how early this year will it crank?
Thx, sorry to disrupt your rainbow trout thread. Man those look good!!!!
Rudy
Thanks Rudy for the reply!
As for the Perdernales I fish the part of the river that runs through Stonewall and Johnson City.
The area around Dripping Springs and close to Austin I have not fished in several years.
The river in the areas I am fishing is in super shape with plenty of water and good current.
I have not fished the Perderales this year but over the past years I have caught plenty of Bass,Bluegill, and Channel Cats.
Love fishing that Stonewall section! Usually fish the river two to three times a year during late spring and early fall. What time of year do the whites run on the Perdernales?(Should be soon).
As for the butter on the trout I have not tried that. I have always used Mustard. I will give the butter a try in the very near future! Thanks for the tip.
Side Note: I have also been told to dip em in butter milk and then roll em in the fry.
