Sunshine Lake Weatherford Tx - 10/19/15 05:23 PM
Any report or tips for sunshine lake thinking about going there Friday morning or early afternoon.
Never fished there before. If you do let us know how you do!
Side Note: Sunfish are in their fall patterns and are fairly active right now. Fish can be found in 7 to 15 feet of water. Docks and tree overhangs are good places to find em.

Sunshine Lake has a good population of carp, catfish, bass and crappie. However, there are very few large sunfish. I have searched every inch of the lake without finding large sunfish.
The pool behind the dam has sunfish, but be careful. The area is overgrown and can be dangerous to climb in.
The crappie in Sunshine grow huge, but they are mostly caught in the creek in the spring.
Good spots are the area to the right of the boat ramp, the vegetation near the dam, the pool behind the dam, and the creek mouth. The fishing pier is in an empty area of the lake and I have never caught anything of size off the pier.

Do you need a boat to reach those spots?

They are all reachable from the bank. Finding the creek is a little tricky. It is reached off the turn around near the soccer fields.
