Central Texas - Bank fishing - 06/24/15 02:06 AM

I posted in the bank fish thread asking advice on where to fish and J-Moe suggested I post here as well. I'm new to bank fishing in Central TX. Usually go with Bro-N-Law Conroe and Livingston areas, since he has a boat. New GF wants to bank fish, so I am looking for any advice on where to fish and how to get to it. I've read a lot of threads in Bank, but not here so if a thread covers it just post me the link so I can read it.

Thanks for any help.

p.s. I will be doing some catch and release but mostly we will be eating what we catch.

Near you, Bradfield Park has some fishing ponds. There's good bank fishing on the Guadalupe in around New Braunfels when the river calms down.

Plus #1. Also there is the San Marcus and Blanco Rivers. Both are excellent places to fish once things settle down. nuts Both rivers flooded and it will take some time for the areas effected to clean up. bang Once things clean up these rivers offer some very good fishing with lots of bank spaces. coolio There are also countless creeks and a couple of rivers not far from you that are super good. dance2 Good luck and let us know how you do. thumb

Lady Bird Lake in Austin has a lot of great bank fishing areas.
