Fishing Report 7-26-18. Lake Mcqueeney Night Trip. - 07/28/18 02:35 AM

Myself and my fishing partner Jeff fished again under the lights on Lake Mcqueeney. We fished this past Thursday night. We started at 10pm and fished till 3am. The bite was SLOW! hammer Had plenty of bait fish around the light but did not see many game fish. We caught 8 Crappie,6 Bluegill, and 2 bass.We had three "BIG" fish we did not catch. Two bent the hooks and one was a break off. We figured the "BIG" fish were Flathead due to the slow sunfish/crappie bite. hmmm Fish were caught on ultralight tackle. Gulp Alive Minnows, and small crank baits-Chartreuse/Black got the best results. All fish were released.

Side Note: Yes Sir a few big Flatheads will scare the fish away! bolt

I am pretty sure that was the reason why the bite was slow! hide2

Nice report L.O. Sometimes they bite and other times they simply don't! There are some mighty big cat's in the Guadalupe.

Maybe time to add a little heavier tackle to the mix...Are you fishing on the main lake or more up river ? I grew up near Laguna Vista...when it was just an overgrown slew...
