Sunday perching

Went out Sunday to do a little crappie fishing, we caught a few but also caught some real pretty perch. They were hanging around weed beds and caught on hand tied jigs.

Nice catches! Jigs only? I been having luck with gulp red worms and hook only. been fishing my favorite retention pond with moderate success.

Nice post and some super fish. Do you use certain colors of jigs during different times of the year? Do the sunnies like certain colors best? Again great post!

Thanks Gitter Done!we've been useing red, pink and yellow jig heads and perch crappie and bass are liking it. As for sunnies it seems like they like pink, yellow and blue jigs.

Say Pot licker looks like the fish are showing their spawning colors. Are they spawning in the area you are fishing? Again cool post!

The water is too deep to see if they have nest but by the colors i would think they are.
