Anniversary weekend

Anniversary weekend - 12/05/17 07:26 PM

We celebrated our 26th anniversary by going camping and fishing on the nueces river. It is one we will never forget! What can I say? The fish just cooperated. We caught over 150 fish perch crappie and bass all on hand tied jigs made by my buddy shane "abbott" his screen name on the tff.
Most fish were holding close to cover in 16-21fow. 1/8 Black and chartreuse jig and black and pink jig were what they wanted.

I thank God for blessing me with such a beautiful wife and fishing partner. I pray that the next 26yrs be just as good. I know she will read this post and I want to say I love you yesenia with every fiber of my being.

I guess since theres more crappie than anything i should have posted in the crappie section but i feel more at home in the bluegill section.

Sadly there are no crappie this far north on the nueces. We drive 90mi one way just to fish for them

I was wondering about that! Thanks Leo for the info! I guess the area does not fit the criteria for a crappie habitat. hmmm
