Door lock fob - 07/26/17 03:27 PM

1998 Dodge Ram 1500

Broke the keeper off my fob (no name nor number) It locks and unlocks the doors/starter key switch/ alarm system.

Ideas as to replacement source (Checked comp, however was not able to tell the exact replacement as to uses)

When my fob broke, I bought a replacement off eBay & then found a video on YouTube to reset it to my vehicle.... If the guts are in your fig are still working, you can also buy a empty fob & just put your guts in it..

Note:

my broken case unit still works, this unit has no key, just the fob, I understand I can use just a case and insert my working guts, anyone have one ?

Guess I've isolated it, it appears to be a Viper Alarm fob for a Classic 1 way.
Out of stock at factory . ....

got mine off amazon for $13. Dealer wanted like $300. Very easy to program to you vehicle, just make sure if you have another one, they all need to be programmed at the same time.

Follow up,

Went to a supplier to the Alarm co.,they sold me an empty case, almost new now, good for another 140,000 miles. Time does tell, just replaced the radiator and working on the front end as we speak.
