Carp ID - 01/16/16 03:43 PM

I snagged this last night. Fished this lake since '90 and have never seen one like this. It don't have the barbels like a common carp.

Looks like a Common Carp to me! The over all shape of fish seems a little different than a Common's however it could be just the angle of the fish and picture. hmmm Just guessing I would say Common Carp. eeks

Side Note: You will defiantly get an 100 percent I.D. in this section for sure! coolio

its either a crucian hybrid or a carpsucker. Def not a buff, you can tell by the mouth

Here is a picture of a 4 plus pound River Carpsucker. It's body was not nearly as bulky looking as the one pictured above. The world record River Carpsucker is just over 7 pounds if I remember correctly.

Looks more like a buff than a CC to me.

But I am not convinced its a buff the mouth and face are all wrong.

Stumped.

Highfin Carpsucker. We don't have many of them down here, but y'all do up there. They are usually not that fat but it looks like he's been eating well. It looks a lot like a crucian but the mouth orientation is wrong.

I'd go with carpsucker, I can't see the mouth in that pic, but shape, coloration, and eyes look like it to me...
