Dad didn't do so bad either...focused on the crappie for awhile. We fished well into the night into the next morning. He missed a bigger crappie than my biggest and the tears came a flowin' I said, "You will catch bigger fish than that and it does hurt to miss those big ones...it is part of fishing though". Things don't always go as planned and we all need to learn how to deal with adversity or disappointment. Told him to keep a positive attitude and be grateful for your blessings in your life (and went into how blessed we are). Great spending quality time with him and my younger son too when he decides to pick up a rod. He is still a momma's boy a bit - but that is fine - he will come around. He caught a dandy of a crappie and I think he is getting more and more into it as well.
