My best archery buck. - 10/03/16 11:24 PM
Harvested this buck Saturday evening at around 7 pm. By far my best buck ever and to top that off, it was opening day archery.
22 points better than 1 inch, 25inch spread. I don't know about getting it scored but for a free range archery buck I love it. I will be getting a mount ofc.
I had 3 bucks to my right that I was watching, 2 of those were shooters for sure when they started looking to the east, I decided to wait and see what was on the way. Then this beast came out from my left nearly under me. I waited about 5 minutes for him to move into a shooting area, Held my bow drawn for about 2 minutes with my heart pounding and trying really hard to watch my breathing. Then he gave me the perfect quarter away shot. He had shown up on my game cameras in April and May but hadn't made another appearance till that evening.
He run further than expected, I texted my buddy that I had stuck a big one. Was sure hoping that the arrow hit its mark. I had saw the lighted knock disappear and had a pass though with good blood on the arrow shaft. But you never know. Anyways here are few pics.
Now on to the Berkley tournament at lake fork in a couple of weekends and catch that 13lber!!
