Red Tailed hawk

This guy is about 60 foot in the tree. After the 2nd pic, it flew off. I had no idea they were so big, my best guess is it had a total wingspan of at least 6 foot.

That looks like a red tail. Coopers are darker breasted and have more horizontal bars. Young redtails have the bars but they go away after the first year. That looks like a big female red tail. When I was younger dad had one and her name was cruella. Rabbit killing machine in the fields behind the chevy dealership on Jupiter and 635 and some college campus in Plano around coit maybe (I was young). Very cool birds for sure!!! Great pics cool

I agree, redtail. Coopers also don't get that big. Raptors are difficult because they change so much from youth to maturity,

Cooper's tend to have the long, skinny yellow legs too.
