Joe Pool - 10/18/17 10:15 PM

Just wondering had anyone been having any luck lately at the pool. Have a fishing trip planned for this weekend and wanted to know how was the bite.

I caught 13 with four nice keepers fishing the bridges. Actually caught two that were so small, the jig didn't hook them, but was wedged between the lower jaw and the roof of their mouth.

The bridges are the problem. I've caught 160+ crappie in my last three trips, with well over half keepers. Timber and brush piles are very hot right now and the bite has been VERY aggressive. I've been swimming a road runner and the crappie are trying to tear the rod out of my hands. Good luck! Let us know how you do.

was bubbles everywhere on the lake today. I found fish stacked pretty well in places and just no appetite and when you found them feeding 9 3/4.

I'll be on the lake today by at about 1:30. I'm taking my father in law who is down from Oklahoma. I'll let you know how we do.

My friends and I are renting a boat at the marina and was wondering where the bite was.

Re: Joe Pool - 10/20/17 09:38 PM

Got off the lake at 3:00. Caught about 35 in 90 minutes with about half keepers. If you are renting a boat your best bet is going to be fishing standing timber. Keep moving till you find active fish. No bites in 3-5 minutes, time to move. 12'-15' deep with natural colors. They wanted it either held still or moving very slowly. Several 13"-14" fish today.

Went out today and got skunked. Fished the bridge and cought a couple with no keepers. Wind got extremely aggressive. While I was there we saw a boat catch a fire. Completely burned. All occupants were safely removed as I was told
