Fished Lewisville Sat and caught over 200 fish with 37 Keepers. (GREAT)
Fished Texoma Sun and only caught 50 with 28 keepers. (Seemed slow)

Then I thought back to the old days when we fished all weekend and thought 20-25 total fish caught was a good trip.( Back then any crappie caught was kept)

I believe I prefer NOW to the GOOD OLD DAYS.

I have a Graph for sale, see classified section.

back then, you couldn't pull up on a spot, look into the brushpile or treetop and see how many fish were there...
now they cant hide,... food...I have 3 fishfinders, all with GPS, and 3 types of sonar. They can run, but they cant hide..

If you need a partner tomorrow or Thursday morning, give me a shout. I know I failed to get out the last two times I said, but with this cooler weather, maybe they'll be on. Not sure about the day after a cold front (tomorrow), but the winds will be light. Heck what do I know?

You're so right Ernest. I remember fishing with Dad and we found under water structure by casting out slabs and spoons till we hung up on something. Used triangulation from objects on the bank to locate it again. Didn't sink too many piles back in those days since the lake was full of natural brush. Learned how to read the bank profile to determine where drop offs might be. And had a 6" piece of 3/4 steel rod with a half link chain welded on one end to bounce off the bottom to determine depth. Did manage to catch plenty of bass and crappie but that was primarily due to the lake being new and fishing in it's prime for the first few years. I much prefer "NOW" instead of the good ole days when a 10hp motor was as big as they made 'em. Anybody that had one raved how fast that Hurricane 10 was. And then Kiekhaefer made that Hurricane 20 that put out a big 16hp and you could fly in a 14 ft aluminum boat. nuts roflmao

I remember having a short spinning rod with a 1/2 oz weight attached and throwing it till we found cover, then we fished.
Dad's first bass boat was a Super Skeeter, rigged with a 60 horse Johnson, stick steer. That thing was dangerous, had a Motorguide that was made by the Hershede Hall Clock Co, which I still have.

I had one of those super skeeters. Like riding on the tip of a spear. Flat bottom, if you turned fast it would slide sideways for a while.
