Lake Lavon yesterday

Lake Lavon yesterday - 10/01/17 06:32 PM

Pretty good day. Caught a ton of crappie at 17 to 22 feet deep and close to shore. They were not holding to structure and just swimming around in large schools. Thought they were sandies at first on the sonar. Most were legal, but I only keep 11 inches or bigger. Just not much meat on the 10s. Time for a fish fry.

That's how it was last Tuesday also. Caught most of our fish casting a jig towards the bank and retrieving it. Did pull a couple off the trees though.

I was using minnows and just jigging directly under the boat unless they moved to the side. Then I would cast out 30 feet, let it sink to the bottom and slowly reel it in. Had a fish almost every cast.
