You'll have to work at it, but you can definitely fill a few bags with filets this weekend. Good news is, the lake's not as ridiculously busy with jet skis as it was on the 4th of July, but you will have them, for sure.

As for patterns, I'm doing best on brush piles in 15-20 feet of water. Mark them with a buoy, then back off and cast past them, letting your jig move through horizontally, occasionally lifting and letting it fall. You'll hang up, but they seem to be mostly at or near the top of the brush, often 6-10 feet from the surface, since the water temp has dropped (82-85). I'm doing better with this pattern than I am vertical fishing. It's also frequently an inhale on the drop rather than a thump, so watch your line.

I've had more luck with black and chartreuse than anything else recently, and since we have almost no wind this weekend, I'd go with a 1/4 oz. first, and if that doesn't work, back off to a 1/32. You'll still get a few dinks, but I'm catching overall bigger fish the last couple weeks, with an occasional 13+.

Good luck, and if you strike out but want a bag or two of filets, text me at 469-644-six two four seven. I'm in Enchanted Oaks, and will be happy to give you some.
