Will Keep You Posted... - 08/23/17 11:41 AM

Well my fellow TFF Family.

Dad started not feeling well last night.
Truth be told he has not felt good for a few days, but he didn't say anything to me. He seemed fine.
On way back from the Lake he seemed unusually tired. It concerned me.
Being my wife is a Paramedic I told her something was going on with him.
Well getting information out of him was like a root canal.
Oh I'm fine. Except for this or that.
Every time my wife would ask him something...oh it's not that.

Hey Dad...my wife and your daughtter in law is pretty darn good at her job. Just saying.
Dad wanted to wait until this morning to go see his Primary Care Provider.
My wife looked at me and said Glen he needs to go to the E.R. Tonight!

Well after a good talk we convinced my Dad to go to the E.R. de
My wife pretty much hit a Grand Slam with her diagnosis and my Dad was pretty much incorrect with his diagnosis. roflmao
Probably why she is the Paramedic. flehan
Needless to say he was admitted to the hospital last night.
I'm thankful he did not wait until today and don't think he won't get an earful from me later. soap coach

I can't help fix it if I don't know it's broken.
Listen to your body.
If something is abnormal it will tell you just like a check engine light.
Don't just keep driving and ignoring the light.

They transported him to a bigger hospital last night.
I have no idea if it's gonna be a short stay, a long stay, or what they plan to do.

I would post more information, but he might want to keep some of this stuff to himself.

I will keep you posted...

Stay Safe and Tight Lines To All. fish

Re: Will Keep You Posted... - 08/23/17 07:17 PM

I did not realize that Dutch was your Dad. We have had a few on the water conversations on Lewisville in the past and I always looked forward to seeing and talking to him. He has a wealth of knowledge on catching crappie which has helped me out tremendously. He's a 'hoot' too!

Glad to read that he is doing better and prayers for a full and speedy recovery.

Re: Will Keep You Posted... - 08/23/17 07:40 PM

It's tough for us older guys (68) to admit that there's something going on, I'm the worst, but I'm getting better. I had Bells Palsy two days before
I would admit it, now my wife watches me like a hawk. Don't be afraid to say something, modern medicine is amazing, don't wait.
I hope all is much better with your Dad, don't be too hard on him...

Re: Will Keep You Posted... - 08/23/17 10:25 PM

Again thanks for all the replies.

Dad is doing much better and they are patching him up.
With any luck hope to get him back home tomorrow or Friday.

I went and visited with him and came home since he was pretty tuckered out.
I don't think he slept much last night.

Good news is that he is on the mend. thumb

Glad your doing better.

He just told me his Mom is en-route to the hospital at this very moment via ambulance. He has his hands full just like I did last night.

What the heck is going on around here? Parents wanting to do hospital tours and all in the evening hours. nuts

Re: Will Keep You Posted... - 08/24/17 09:44 PM

Just saw this Schmidty. Tell Dutch we're all in for him with prayers.
Same for your Mom Ronnie.

Good friend of mine that's a cardiac surgeon in the DFW area told our group of Texas Team shooters one day that almost every man he operates on ignored the early signs that something wasn't right. Just stubborn hard headed guys who won't admit something is wrong. Problems usually don't fix themselves. Kinda like that grinding noise you hear in the truck engine. It doesn't get better and fix itself. Go get checked out.

Good news Dad is home now.
He is on a liquid only diet for next two weeks.
Then some more Doctor Appointments.
I'm just glad he is on the mend and they have a game plan. thumb

I know Ronnies Mom is in the hospital getting the help she needs.

Let's just say getting old has its fair share of speed bumps.
