What is the deal with $200 maps???

Doesn't Lowrance HDS have GPS maps built in?

Why pay $200?

my Garmin came pre loaded with 17,000 maps .I think 13000 are 1 ' contour and for lakes that have no map there is a setting to draw a map of your lake

Which map has boat lanes built in ..... looking at Lowrance Insight Pro HD and they say it has good contour and prefered over the $200 Navionics.

webapp.navionics.com

go here, zoom in on the lake you want, IE Lake Fork, this will show you where the bouy markers are..

Lance Vick sells a BOATLANES chip you can get for you electronics, www.boatlanes.com a lot of us use those.

I don't think any maps come with boat lanes marked,...mostly bouy markers..

None of the factory maps have boat lanes...you have to buy that separately.

It's lake specific, not for all lakes on your fishfinders..

I saw that .... Lake Fork is the main lake needing a boat trail and it seems to be mapped well.
I used to go to Fork when it was so full of trees you had trouble trolling ..... saw a guy get his motor knocked off along with part of his boat.

My HDS-9 Gen 2 touch I just bought was a floor display and had Navionics already installed and I didn't even know it.
I bought Lake Insight Pro v16 and installed it before I found out .... now I have both, and will tell you which one is best on Lake Palestine tomorrow.

BOTH MAPS SUCK!!!
I zoomed in and out with both maps and saw no detail ...... Found two brush piles I marked while exploring, so I guess they are good for that!
