Dock shooting question

The last few weeks I've gotten familiar with the dock shooting for crappie. It's a blast out of my kayak. I've been using the thump buddies by Constant Pursuit Outfitters and been doing pretty well. Can't believe I'm just now getting into this.

My question is how long will these fish be on these docks ? I've done some reading on it and the "experts" are kind of all over the place on it. Some say post spawn. Some say all summer. Some say fall and even winter. Post spawn and summer make the most sense to me cause of baitfish and the shade that docks provide. My plan is to keep fishing until they aren't there. Just curious what some of y'all thoughts or experiences are.

You've got it figured out already. Fish the docks until they aren't there anymore.

I think you'll see the docks start to slow down this winter when the fish go deeper. Looks like you're smacking em good out of your yak.

Winter will be the slowest time for docks but I bet you could still catch a few. As a rule, the deeper the docks the longer they will hold better fish. Spring is the best time for numbers of good sized fish on docks and as the Summer comes, the number of good sized fish goes down. Fall tends to have bigger fish than the Summer and slightly better numbers but not as many as the Spring. Hope this helps. This is just in general. It also depends on the lake and how deep the docks are.
