What to do when Lake Fork Turns over??????...........

I've had some of the worst fishing lately!!!!!
Belinda said why don't we try a smaller lake, wouldn't it turn over quicker???????
Made sense to me, so on 10-7, Friday, we set out fish a smaller, local impoundment.

We had 13 in the box when the storm hit, beached the boat and sat it out in the truck.
When the lightning and the heavy ran moved past, we got back out.
Ended up with 40 keepers and probably 100-125 dinks.
Nevertheless, it was a GREAT improvement




Red Snappa and I had already had plans to fish another smaller lake on Sunday.
The morning was very brisk, but the fish were willing to cooperate










Travis had told me that the fish on this lake preferred smaller baits
Boy, was he ever RIGHT!!!
Larger presentations were ignored,
But the smaller baits made for an absolute THUMP fest!

Ended up with a 2 man limit
All fish were caught on Mini Tadpoles in Ice Shad, Copper Mine & Silver Flash/Chart



I now have 180 filets for the G2G fish fry

We caught about 60% of our fish on spots Travis showed me, the rest on spots we found search with the O'l Bird!

Great report, I went to this lake after years of hearing of it, I was impressed by the ditch pickle population and after Red Snappa reports recently I am ready to give the crappie a try. Nice pictures, I've been looking for a piece of lake property for sale in that area.

I sunk a lot of brush in the last 20 years around that hump out from the green metallic roofed boat house.....but I mostly bass fish there.... unless I'm mistaken....but it's unlikely
